LUFKIN, TX (News Release) - Golf has gone to the dogs … and cats!

Golfers will once again have the chance to spend an afternoon playing a round of golf during the 12th Annual Dog Days of Summer Golf Tournament at Crown Colony Country Club and raise funds for homeless animals at the Winnie Berry Humane Society.

Benefiting Winnie Berry Humane Society of Angelina County since 2004, the Dog Days of Summer Golf Tournament at Crown Colony Country Club has a fun day of team golfing in store for players with some great prizes!

Registration will begin at noon with the optional putting contest taking place giving players that enter the chance to win $100. A Shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. with a Scramble Format will see teams teeing off at each hole on the course at the same time and this year adds some new opportunities for some real game changers to take strokes off of a player’s game by purchasing each for $20. The game changers include a chance to throw the ball once or to use a 5 iron to tee off to save a stroke adding a unique twist to the day’s fun.

Players will enjoy heavy Hors d'oeuvres prior to the start. Following the tournament, a fajita dinner will be served in the country club while everyone visits with the other players, catching up with friends and recapping the day’s memorable plays.

Entry fee includes green fees, golf cart, range balls, Hors d'oeuvres, Fajita dinner, and a 2016 Dog Days of Summer T-shirt, all included for $125 per player or $500 per team.
