Affidavit: California man pointed gun at Nacogdoches officers during standoff

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A California man pointed a gun and threatened to shoot Nacogdoches police officers during a standoff Thursday afternoon, according to an arrest affidavit.

In addition to his California parole violation, Lamar Dwayne Allen, 49, is now charged with first-degree aggravated assault against a public servant and third-degree unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to the arrest affidavit, officers were trying to negotiate with Allen when he threatened to shoot them and also pointed a gun at them.

Police were trying to arrest Allen on his California warrant when he went into a home on Ritchie Street and refused to come out, according to police.

A Nacogdoches SWAT team managed to arrest Allen around 8:30 p.m. Thursday after going into the home.
