LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The stars and stripes will be honored on Tuesday in downtown Lufkin.
For the 36th year, 'Main Street Lufkin' will be hosting the annual Flag Day celebration at the Lufkin City Hall.
On June 14th, Americans commemorate the adoption of Old Glory, which happened back in 1777.
Organizers say they'll be honoring the flag and our freedoms. The event is Tuesday, June 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the atrium of Lufkin City Hall. It's free to attend and invited to anyone.
In the past, the city has celebrated East Texas veterans and partnered with the VFW and American Legion for the celebration.
