It is Monday the day before the math part of the TAKS test. Fourth grade Brookhollow Elementary students are ready.
While the TAKS test does not determine whether a student gets held back or promoted for fourth graders, teachers say it's just as important.
Fourth Grade Teacher Cathy Bowers said, "If it reflects that they have failed, then maybe the student needs help and will need to go to summer school or extended day in the fall."
Teachers have some last minute advice for students, before they take Tuesday's test.
Linda Stewart, also a fourth grade teacher, said, "Children need to eat a good breakfast, lots of rest, and be confident. They know all the things they will be tested on, so they need to shine."
Stewart said parents also need to encourage their kids to do their best.
Teachers have spent months helping students prepare for the test. They are happy, Tuesday is almost here.
