CONROE, TX (KTRE) -

A Sunday night police chase has resulted in the deaths of a Patton Village police officer and an 11-year-old child in Montgomery County, according to KTRK-TV.

According to KTRK, Patton Village Officer Stacey Baumgartner responded to the Valero Corner Store at State Highway 242 and US 59 in reference to a man urinating on the sidewalk and exposing himself to customers.

When Baumgartner arrived, Garrett William Nee, 29, tried to run him down and that is when the chase began.

The chase headed west on SH 242. At the intersection of FM 1485, Nee ran a light and Baumgartner was T-boned by a 1998 Chevy Suburban.

Baumgartner and the child inside the SUV died in the crash and other people were taken to hospitals with serious injuries, according to KTRK.

Nee returned to the scene of the wreck, where he was placed under arrest on multiple charges, including murder and intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.
