Lufkin PD: Woman who punched grandmother found in possession of THC wax

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Officers with the Lufkin Police Department arrested a 25-year-old woman for allegedly punching her grandmother in the face during an argument Monday afternoon.

Cassie Carol Filip, of Lufkin, I still being held in the Angelina County jail on a third-degree felony injury to the elderly causing bodily injury charge and a third-degree possession of a controlled substance between 1 and 4 grams charge. Collectively, her bail amount was set at $10,000.

According to the Lufkin Police Department’s daily activity report, the incident happened at a home in the 600 block of Maxwell Street at about 4:39 p.m. Monday. Filip allegedly hit her grandmother in face during an argument.

After Lufkin PD officers took Filip in custody, they found her to be in possession of what appeared to be marijuana wax, the report stated.

Filip was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
