Shoppers at Target will soon have to buy some of their cold and cough medicines someplace else.
Target. announced today its stores without pharmacies will stop selling over the counter medicines containing pseudoephedrine.
"It's been a nationwide problem for quite some time, and we've recognized that these products have been used for the purpose of making methamphetamine, and so Target felt like it was the right thing to do for our guests," says Lufkin Target manager Kris Hoepfner.
For the Target stores that do have pharmacies, the medicines containing pseudoephederine will be available behind the counter.
But, stores like the one in Lufkin will stop selling the medicines entirely.
