NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The ministry and Nacogdoches service agencies are combining their messages into what's called Slam Jam Outreach.
Nacogdoches Bible Fellowship is hosting the Saturday event.
Organizers are using the community-service day to illustrate the goodness in people.
The goal is to match those in need with the special services.
The morning will be filled with information booths, medical services, activities, and fun for the entire family.
"We are going to have an opportunity to share the Gospel and but we are also going to meet the needs and to pray with people and just love on folks, as we say, love on 'em," said Dr. Rod Jones, the pastor of Nacogdoches Bible Fellowship. "That's what we like to do here."
"We've reached out to a lot of agencies like Health Horizon, Christian Women Job Corps, the Workforce, the legal aid ministry," said Frankie Harvey, a coordinator. "We have Solid Foundation. We have the two hospitals here to bring their medical individuals to do blood pressure checks and diabetes checks."
The Slam Jam Outreach is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nacogdoches Bible Fellowship located at 2200 East Main Street.
Hot dogs and prizes from local businesses will add to the fun.
