We have declared tomorrow, Tuesday, June 28th, a First Alert Weather Day for Lufkin, Nacogdoches, and all of Deep East Texas as some heavy downpours and a few strong thunderstorms will be possible in our part of the state.
Any storms that do fire up on Tuesday afternoon could disrupt your daily routine, possibly causing you to have to cancel or alter any of your outdoor plans.
This enhanced rain and storm chance will come courtesy of a summer cool front, one that will arrive in the Piney Woods during the peak heating of the day.
As this cool front taps into all this heat and humidity, any storms that form will be capable of producing some strong, damaging winds. That will ultimately be our biggest concern with any storms that fire up tomorrow afternoon.
In addition to the high wind threat, these storms will produce high rainfall rates and lots of cloud-to-ground lightning strikes as well.
One of the best ways to stay on top of the weather where you live on Tuesday is to have our FREE KTRE weather app. on both your smart phone and tablet devices.
