NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A 38-year-old Garrison woman was arrested late Monday night after she allegedly fled a traffic stop with a small child in her vehicle and led authorities on a chase that wound up in Shelby County.
Renia Lanora Marshall is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a state-jail felony evading arrest with a vehicle charge, a state-jail felony endangering a child charge, a Class A misdemeanor possession of a dangerous drug charge, and a Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge. No bail amount has been set at this time.
According to the Nacogdoches Police Department's daily activity report, the incident occurred at about 10:53 p.m. Monday. After a Nacogdoches Police officer spotted Marshall speeding on Southwest Stallings Drive, he or she tried to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, the report stated.
Marshall then allegedly ran from the officer in her vehicle. The chase ended in Shelby County, just north of Garrison.
When authorities searched Marshall and her vehicle, they found drugs in the car and on her person, the report stated. They also found that Marshall had a small child in the vehicle with them.
Marshall was arrested at the scene and taken to the Nacogdoches County Jail.
