NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches County grand jury has issued a no-bill against a Lufkin man previously arrested on a first-degree felony sex crime.

Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested Tyler Wayne Ward, 17, in April after he was accused of having sex with an underage girl.

The grand jury did not issue a true bill. According to Nacogdoches County District Attorney's Office spokesman Andrew Jones, the grand jury generally does not issue a true bill when they do not believe there was enough evidence to proceed with the case.

This practice is commonly referred to as a no-bill.
