Affidavit: Nacogdoches man stabbed, cut uncle

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested a 29-year-old man on Tuesday after he allegedly stabbed and cut his uncle at a home in the 1400 block of Shawnee Street.

Deronald Cordevrian Norris, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County jail on a first-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. No bail amount has been set at this time.

According to the arrest affidavit, a Nacogdoches PD officer was dispatched out to a home in the 1400 block of Shawnee Street Tuesday in reference to an assault that had just occurred. When the NPD officer got to the scene, he talked to the victim, who had multiple stab wounds and cuts on his head and body.

The alleged victim told the officer that Norris, who is his nephew, came into his room while he was sleeping and began cutting and stabbing him with a knife, the affidavit stated. At that point, Norris allegedly fled the home wearing only shorts.

NPD officers searched the area for Norris, but they couldn't find him. However, about an hour later, Norris showed up at a Nacogdoches emergency room with a cut to his right hand.

According to the affidavit, Nacogdoches PD officers noticed that Norris was only wearing a pair of shorts that were covered in blood.

Norris was arrested and taken to the county jail.
