Trinity Co. authorities find body of man who went overboard saving child

TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

The Trinity County Sheriff's Office has located the body of an East Texan man who went missing in water trying to saving his niece. 

Bobby Arnold, of Onalaska, fell overboard and was last seen holding the child above water to be rescued. According to family, Arnold saved his niece from drowning.

The child was rescued but the 36-year-old man went under and was missing until crews were able to locate his body around 1 a.m Thursday, according to the Trinity County Sheriff's Office.

The accident happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday at the underway of the Whiterock Creek Bridge on FM 356 in Trinity County. 

According to Game Warden William Watts, the search continued Wednesday night with assistance from the Texas Game Wardens, fire & rescue and a dive team.
