DALLAS, TX (KTRE) - DeMarcus Lawrence's appeal was denied and he will now start the NFL season with a four-game suspension. According to ESPN, Lawrence abused the NFL's substance abuse policy by using amphetamines.
Lawrence's suspension comes down the same day as Rolando McClain's 10-game suspension for also violating the league's substance abuse policy. The Dallas Cowboys will not have defensive end Randy Gregory either at the start of the season. Gregory also failed to follow the NFL substance abuse policy.
Last year, Lawrence had a team-leading eight sacks.
