NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested a 55-year-old man late Wednesday night in connection to allegations that he used a knife when he attacked his housemate at a home in the 1000 block of Holly Oak Street.

Jose Silvano Bonilla, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a second-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. His bail amount has been set at $10,000.

According to the arrest affidavit that East Texas News obtained Friday, NPD officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a home in the 1000 block of Holly Oak Street at about 10:53 p.m. Wednesday. The complainant told officers that Bonilla had assaulted him with a knife at their house.

When the Nacogdoches PD officers arrived on the scene, Bonilla had already fled the scene, the affidavit stated. A short time later, Bonilla was spotted walking down the street, and he allegedly refused to cooperate with the officers’ commands.

According to the affidavit, Bonilla had the knife in his possession when the officers searched him.

He was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
