LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

The Lufkin Police Department released a video Friday of one of their lieutenants helping a young boy air up the tires on his bicycle.

The boy, Christopher, and his father live right behind the police station, and Christopher often stops by the station to talk to the officers.

Lt. David Campbell had seen the boy pass by on his bike and noticed that the tires would always go flat.

Christopher told Campbell that the tires would only hold air for 30 minutes. The dashboard camera shows Campbell’s decision to take action and fix the boy’s bike.

Campbell and Christopher work on the bike together, and, in only a few minutes, the young man was back on his bike.

LPD ends the video with a message saying, "Making one person smile can change the world. Maybe not the whole world, but their world."

The department's Facebook video has been viewed 45,000 times, as of Friday.

KTRE summer intern Haley Squires contributed to this story.
