SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A 34-year-old Gary man was charged after he allegedly fled the scene of a two-vehicle accident in Shelby County early Friday morning.
According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred on FM 138 west of Center at about 5:20 a.m. Friday. A 2009 Jeep was traveling east on FM 138 when it crossed over into the westbound lane and struck a 2012 Dodge pickup driven by Charles Harris, 59, of Center.
After he allegedly fled the scene, the drive of the Jeep was located and identified as Robert Lynn Gordon. Gordon had been traveling with two passengers, and one of them was taken to Nacogdoches Medical Center in Center for treatment of possible injuries.
The driver of the Dodge was identified as Charles Harris, 59, of Center. He was taken by private vehicle to Nacogdoches Medical Center in Center for treatment of unknown injuries.
As a result of the wreck, Gordon was charged with driving on the wrong side of the road-not passing, failure to maintain financial responsibility, and accident involving damage.
The wreck is still under investigation.
