Hospice of Deep East Texas couldn't have selected a more timely subject to present to health care professionals. A teleconference on 'the ethical dilemmas at the end of life' attracted lots of attention. It comes primarily from social workers, nurses, doctors and clergy. They were there to share opinions and responses on methods to enhance the quality of life for the terminally ill.

Hospice manager, Betty Marberry said, "A better understanding of what end of life can be is the goal. That there can be a good quality of life at the end. The end of life should be as meaningful as the beginning, as the birth."

Just under 200 were in attendance. Organizers are certain controversy over the Terri Schiavo case generated interest in Wednesday's teleconference.
