SABINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Sabine County Sheriff's Office authorities gave an update on the nearly 10 thousand marijuana plants discovered in a field Thursday morning.

Items found at the scene of the wooded area revealed the suspects might be involved in a Mexican drug cartel.

Sabine County Sheriff Tom Maddox confirmed the suspects left behind candles reading "Santa Muerte," which translates to "saint of death." Labels on the candles depict the Grim Reaper.

Clear containers scattered around the campsite, labeled with the words "Holy Death," were also found.
