HOUSTON, TX (KTRE) - Houston Astros' Jose Altuve has been named a starter in the 2016 MLB All-Star Game for the American League. This makes for his second-consecutive starting nomination for the All-Star Game. Altuve is now a four-time All-Star.
The second basemen this year has a .353 batting average, with 14 home runs. He also has 21 stolen bases on the year.
Astros' pitcher Will Harris has also been nominated for the All-Star Game. The right handed pitcher has a .74 ERA and 36 strikeouts this year.
George Springer is one-of-five final cote candidates who needs to win the voting based competition in order to make the roster.
Springer is up against second basemen Ian Kinsler with the Tigers, third basemen Evan Longoria with the Rays, second basemen Dustin Pedroia with the Red Sox and outfielder Michael Saunders with the Blue Jays.
