POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested a 45-year-old man on Monday in connection to allegations that he slashed another person on the arm and leg with a sword that had been concealed in a walking cane on June 28.
James Roundtree, of Polk County, is still being held in the Polk County Jail on a felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. His bail amount has been set at $25,000.
According to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Roundtree assaulted the victim at a home in the 600 block of Munson Road, slashing the individual on the arm and leg. After the alleged assault, Roundtree left the home, allowing the victim the chance to seek medical help.
After a warrant was issued for Roundtree's arrest, he was arrested at 9:17 p.m. in the 100 block of Big Foot Wallace Trail and taken to the county jail.
