WACO, TX- Several players have opted to transfer from the Baylor football program after Art Briles' dismissal from the sexual assault cases. Perhaps the biggest blow to the program came Thursday when quarterback Jarrett Stidham announced he's leaving the university.
Stidham released the news on his personal Twitter account stating, "After careful thought and consideration, I am announcing my decision to transfer from Baylor University. I would like to thank my teammates, friends, family, and fellow students for the support throughout my career thus far. Also, I want to thank the coaching staff that brought me here and gave me this opportunity to play. This has been a difficult decision, but I wish nothing but the best to my teammates and Baylor Football in the future. Thank you."
Stidham has not made any decision at this point on where he might play college football next.
Baylor still has junior quarterback Seth Russell. Stidham filled in for Russell when he suffered a season-ending injury.
As a freshmen, Stidham threw for 1,265 yards and 12 touchdowns in 10 games.
