Brandon Belt wins voting contest to make 2016 MLB All-Star Game
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (KTRE) -
Former Hudson Hornet Brandon Belt has won the final voting based competition and will play in the 2016 MLB All-Star Game. This is Belt's first-ever MLB All-Star Game appearance.
Belt was one of five final vote candidates to earn a spot on the National League team. The San Francisco Giant was up against outfielder Ryan Braun with the Brewers, third basemen Jake Lamb with the Diamondbacks, outfielder Starling Marte with the Pirates, and shortstop Trevor Story with the Rockies.
The former Hudson Hornet is hitting .300, has blasted 10 home runs this season with 46 RBI’s and a NL-best 27 doubles.
