POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Texas Department of Public Safety troopers arrested a 19-year-old Cold Spring man early Thursday morning after he allegedly pointed a gun at another motorist on US Highway 59 and then tossed the firearm out the window when he was stopped in Livingston.
Raymond Ajay Belowski is still being held in the Polk County Jail on three charges - possession of a prohibited weapon, tampering with physical evidence, and deadly conduct. His bail amount has been set at $50,000.
According to a DPS press release, troopers were notified at about 6:30 a.m. that the driver of a BMW pointed a gun at another motorist while he was northbound on US 59, near Goodrich.
DPS troopers and other law enforcement officers located the BMW in Livingston a short time later. The press release stated that as the law enforcement officers were pulling the vehicle over, Belowksi threw the gun out of the BMW.
The gun was recovered soon after the traffic stop, and a search of the vehicle revealed another prohibited weapon, the press release stated.
The passenger in the car was also arrested on an outstanding criminal mischief warrant from Montgomery County. Belowski and Sydney Moore, 26, of Conroe, were both arrested at the scene and taken to the Polk County Jail.
