A one-vehicle crash on State Highway 147 in Shelby County resulted in the death of a 49-year-old Center woman Monday night.
According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the woman who died in the accident has been identified as Carrie Lynn Moore.
The preliminary investigation of the wreck states that Moore was driving a 2002 Kia Optima east on SH 147 when her vehicle left the roadway to the left about five miles south of Shelbyville, struck a tree, and rolled over, the press release stated. Moore was ejected from her Kia.
At the time of the crash, Moore was not wearing a seat belt, the press release stated.
Justice of the Peace Marla Denby pronounced Moore dead at the scene.
The wreck is still under investigation at this time.
