ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Angelina County Sheriff's Office has charged a Lufkin woman accused of breaking the jaw of her ex-boyfriend's girlfriend in May.
Elizabeth Paige Hooks, 20, is charged with second-degree aggravated assault.
According to an arrest affidavit, a deputy was dispatched to the 7000 block of State Highway 7 west of Lufkin on May 5 in reference to an assault.
The deputy spoke with the victim and her boyfriend. The woman said she and her boyfriend were traveling to his mother's house and when they turned into the driveway, they saw Hooks driving toward them from the house. The boyfriend stopped his vehicle and Hooks stopped hers next to his. The affidavit states Hooks said they needed to speak to each other but the man said he asked her several times to leave.
When Hooks refused to leave, the girlfriend said she got out of the vehicle and walked around to stand next to her boyfriend, who was still telling Hooks to leave.
The girlfriend said as soon as she got close to Hooks, Hooks punched her in the face. The girlfriend said she tried to get away, but could not and Hooks punched her more before the boyfriend was able to get her away. Hooks finally left when the boyfriend said he was going to call police, according to the affidavit.
The girlfriend said she realized her tooth had been knocked out of her mouth. She went to the doctor a short while later and learned her jaw had been fractured.
Deputies obtained a warrant for Hooks arrest on July 8.
She was booked into the Angelina County Jail on Tuesday, where she posted a $7,500 bail.
