NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - An SFA graduate student has died and her accused shooter is in very serious condition in what police are calling a homicide and attempted suicide in Nacogdoches Wednesday morning.
According to a press release, officers were called to an apartment in the 500 block of Tangleberry Street shortly after 4 a.m. They were met by a woman who lived a the apartment who said Chloe Love, 22, of Houston, had forced her way into the apartment, confronted another woman in a bedroom, and showed a handgun.
The roommate ran from the apartment and heard a gunshot on the way out, she said.
Officers went into the apartment and found Love on the bedroom floor with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. She was taken to a Nacogdoches hospital, where she is in extremely serious condition.
Officers also found the body of Shermika Bolden, 23, of Nacogdoches, on the floor of the room. She was shot and died at the scene.
Officers had been called to the apartment an hour earlier when Bolden reported she had been called several times during the night by Love and a brick had been thrown through the front window of the apartment.
According to her LinkedIn page, Bolden was working on her Master's Degree for professional accountancy.
