Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week: Big Dog thieves

From Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers

LUFKIN, TEXAS - (News Release) - Over the night of July 06, unidentified suspects burglarized Longhorn Bus Sales on South Medford Drive in Lufkin. The suspects used bolt cutters to cut a section of chain link fence to gain access to the area used to store riding lawnmowers and drove two Big Dog brand mowers through the hole they created in the fence.

One of the stolen mowers is a Stout 54" (model 933788), similar to the one shown here, and the other mower is a Diablo 60" (model 933218). Both are painted red with black accents and their combined suggested retail price is nearly $20,000.

The mowers' tracks ended in a sandy area on a power high line at the southeast corner of Lufkin High School's property. The investigating officer recovered bolt cutters that might create a positive link between the burglars and this crime but an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers could point the investigator at the correct suspects and earn the tipster a cash reward.

If you can identify the burglars responsible for this crime, or provide the location of the stolen mowers, call Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers at (936) 639-TIPS or submit a tip online at Crime Stoppers calls and tips are anonymous and the first, most accurate tip that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward.

Crime Stoppers pays rewards in cash but only for anonymous tips submitted directly to Crime Stoppers and that concern information not previously provided to or known by law enforcement.
