SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - An investigation into a stolen gas can by the San Augustine County Sheriff's Office resulted in three felony burglary arrests and the recovery of numerous stolen items.
All three suspects surrendered to authorities at the San Augustine Jail.
Trey Musselman, 19 of Richardson, Jacob Walker Seabrook, 22, of Anderson, and Taylor Brooke Sicola, 19, of Anderson, were all arrested and charged with second-degree felony burglary with the intent to commit theft.
Musselman was arrested earlier this month, and he has since been released from the jail. Seaback and Sicola were booked into the San Augustine County Jail on Wednesday.
Chief Deputy Gary Cunningham with the San Augustine County Jail said the initial burglary report came on July 5. He said that home owner found that someone had stolen a gas can from the attached garage of his second home.
Because the home owner had a pretty good idea of who had taken the gas can, he confronted Muusselman, who admitted to the crime and turned himself in, Cunningham said. During the investigation, Mussel implicated Seaback and Sicola on their involvement in other burglaries that occurred in a subdivision in an isolated area of San Augustine County.
Shortly after that, SACSO investigators got warrants for the other two suspects.
Cunningham said that an air compressor, a trolling motor, a battery, a tackle box, a radio, and an award plaque were among the stolen items that they have recovered so far.
