NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Following a traffic stop on Hillenkamp Street Thursday night, officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested a 19-year-old man on a felony drug charge because he allegedly had a bong, THC wax, and drug paraphernalia in the car with him.
Andrew Chappel Sirmans, 19, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a state-jail felony possession of a controlled substance less than 2 grams charge and a Class C misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance charge. No bail amounts have been set at this time.
According to the police report and the arrest affidavit, a Nacogdoches Police officer pulled Sirmans over on Hillenkamp Street for driving 15 mph over the speed limit. When the NPD officer made contact with Sirmans, the driver of the vehicle, he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle and saw a steaming bong behind the passenger seat, the affidavit stated.
A search of Sirmans' vehicle turned up THC (marijuana) wax and items of drug paraphernalia.
Sirmans was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
