It was a gathering of Lumberjacks and Jills at the Forestry Tailgate Saturday.
Several companies came out to show their stuff to land owners. Demonstrators showed how the trees we see in the forest become stacks of lumber while some took to the more old fashioned approach. Organizers of the event say it's mostly an educational day for timber growers.
Ron Hufford, Executive Vice President of the Texas Forestry Association said, "it just provides landowners the opportunity to come out and hear from forestry professionals and learn about different services and products that they can use and employ on their tree farms."
