HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Texas Ranger arrested a 40-year-old Crockett woman in connection to allegations that she used a steak knife to stab another woman at a Houston County park Saturday.

The alleged victim in the knife attack was airlifted to East Texas Medical Center-Tyler, where she underwent surgery for her injuries.

Angela McKnight Creag (Davis) is still being held in the Houston County Jail on a first-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.

According to the arrest affidavit,  after an investigator with the Houston County Sheriff's Office was assigned to the case, he learned that at about 6:05 a.m. on Saturday that a Trinity Police Department officer made a traffic stop on Creag's vehicle and found that she had blood all over her and her clothes. The TPD officer also found that the vehicle Creag was driving belonged to Patricia McCray Bolton.

When Trinity County Sheriff's Office deputies tried to make contact with Bolton at her home, neither she nor her husband were home, the affidavit stated.

About 20 to 30 minutes later, the NCSO investigator was told by dispatch that Bolton had been found at a location known as "The 4-Mile Park" about two miles south of the Crockett city limits. A witness told authorities that Bolton appeared to have an injury and a lot of bleeding. The witness also said that Bolton was barely moving, but she was breathing, the affidavit stated.

The HCSO investigator learned that Bolton told a law enforcement officer at the scene that Creag caused her to "have the pain, injury, and bleeding Bolton had encountered because [Creag] thought Bolton called the police on her," the affidavit stated.

During an interview at the Trinity Police Department, Creag allegedly admitted to having a steak knife while she was driving Bolton's car. The HCSO investigator noticed blood all over the passenger side of the vehicle, where Bolton had been sitting. Blood was also found on the steak knife, he affidavit stated.

Texas Ranger Steve Geeder read Creag her Miranda rights. She was arrested after she waived her rights and spoke to authorities about what had happened, the affidavit stated.
