CONROE, TX (KTRE) -

A Houston area murder suspect that has ties to the Grapeland area has turned himself in.

According to Criminal Investigation Detective Michael Martin of the Texas Department of Public Safety in Houston, Gerald Green, 39, of New Caney, turned himself into authorities in Conroe on Wednesday.

Last night, Martin believed to have fled to the Grapeland area after he allegedly murdered 41 year-old Alice Jeanette Lee by dragging her with his vehicle in Humble on July 2.

Martin credited the large amount of shares the KTRE story received overnight.

"The posts you guys put up was amazing," Martin said. "It put the pressure on him, and we had calls all day about it."

Martin is not sure if Green was ever in Grapeland but hopes to know more after he is interviewed by investigators.
