LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Aspen is a 6-year-old husky that is ready to find a new home.
"Aspen is not originally from here," said Winnie Berry Director Mike Stephens. "We transferred him in from another shelter because they were having a hard time placing him. We've had some luck placing them in the past, so we decided to give it a shot."
Aspen is an alpha dog and would most likely need to go to a home where he would be the only pet. Aspen is really curious and loves to play so he will need plenty of room to explore.
"Huskies especially get attached to their people, their family," Stephens said. "For that reason, who ever adopts Aspen will need to have some time with him."
Because of his heavy coat, Aspen will need to have plenty of time indoors.
"They have to have some place they can get them in out of the heat and still have time to take him for walks and playtime," Stephens said.
Aspen is available for adoption from the Whinnie Berry Humane Society. The shelter is open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays.
