HUNTINGTON, TX (KTRE) - The Huntington Independent School District announced on Monday that they'll be dropping the tuition for out of district students.
The board voted unanimously to waive the fees this year for those individual students from out of the area.
Huntington ISD Superintendent David Flowers said the school believes this is a great opportunity to gain additional students in the school district while also picking up more state funding.
Flowers hopes that this will help out a handful of students along with their families when it comes to school tuition.
Huntington ISD plans on evaluating the progress of this decision and then reviewing it once again at the end of the school year.
