LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man has agreed to a 10-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to a charge connected to a man's death after he was hit in the head by a thrown golf club in February of 2014.

Kentavian Holman, 20, accepted the plea agreement on a charge of second-degree manslaughter in Judge Bob Inselmann's court. He will serve it concurrent with a 20-year sentence from a guilty verdict in connection to the robbery of a woman's home in September of 2014.

Holman was arrested in March of 2014 after he threw a golf club at a group of people and it struck Leonardo Daniel Garcia in the head. Holman threw the club in the direction of a group following a confrontation.

Garcia was taken to the hospital early the morning of Feb. 23, 2014, and was later released and then found dead at his home later that day on Texas Avenue.

Holman admitted to throwing the golf club in the vicinity of the group.

A jury found Holman guilty of robbing the woman in November of 2015.
