Former Police Officer Says He Was Fired For Doing His Job

A former Trinity police officer who claims he was fired for doing his job wants back pay and a severance package from the department.

John Chambers believes he was fired because he arrested the friend of city council member, Neil smith.

Back in October, the Texas Rangers investigated Smith for getting in the way of that arrest. Allegations against Smith include obstruction, retaliation, and coersion.

Chambers also wants the Trinity Police Department to pay for his moving expenses so he can relocate and find another job.
