Women Go Red For Heart Disease

by Ramonica R. Jones

Statistics show one in two women in the U.S. dies from heart disease.

Woodland Heights Medical Center Wednesday hosted a luncheon to promote awareness of heart problems among women.  Guest speaker Carol Schreiner gave the audience a few tips on how to have a healthy heart.  She said laughter is always the best medicine; along with exercise and eating right.

More than 300 people showed up for the hospital's first "Women in Red" event, which included a heart healthy lunch and life-saving tips.

Wednesday's lunch also included a fashion show featuring all the latest spring styles.  Experts say feeling good starts with looking good.
