NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A 19-month-old boy has died following a swimming pool incident on the 1000 block of Lee Lane in Nacogdoches Sunday night.

According to the Nacogdoches police report, the family was having a get-together and people at the house were going in and out of the house. Several children were there and were asking about swimming in the pool when one of the children saw the 19-month-old, Edgar Rodriguez, in the pool. That child let adults know and the adults took Edgar to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It is not clear what kind of shape Edgar was in when the adults got him out of the pool.

According to the report, Edgar was found at 8:30 p.m. and police went to the hospital at 8:59 p.m.

Sgt. Mack McKee said the investigation on the drowning is complete and has been ruled an accident.
