DPS releases name of TxDOT driver killed in Sabine County rollover wreck

SABINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A TxDOT dump truck driver has died following a one-vehicle crash in Sabine County Monday morning.

According to the DPS report, the crash happened at 7:30 a.m. on FM 1, two miles north of Bronson.

According to DPS, it appears the 2005 Sterling dump truck was going northbound when it crossed over the southbound lane and overturned in the ditch.

The Driver, 51 year-old Marvis Ethan Aulds of Brookeland was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.

TxDOT released an official statement on the accident:

"The TXDOT family in the Lufkin District is heartbroken at the news of the loss of one of our own today as a result of a tragic accident. This gentleman was a dedicated employee in the Sabine County Maintenance Department and had been employed by TXDOT since June, 2014. The last time the Lufkin District lost an employee due to an accident was May, 2003, and we are truly heavy-hearted whenever this occurs. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family in this time of great loss."
