PHILADELPHIA- Groveton native Lane Johnson is learning the hard way- read the fine print.
According to several reports, the Philadelphia Eagle is facing a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance enhancing drug policy.
This is the second time Johnson has violated the rule. The first time was in 2014.
Fox Sports reported in the latest failed drug test, the East Texan took an approved amino acid, but tested positive for a banned peptide. Johnson is reportedly appealing the suspension.
The first time he was suspended for PED's, Johnson was out four games because he took a prescription medication without checking with the eagles medical staff.
The franchise hasn't made any comment at this time, and neither has Johnson, but his agent released the following statement:
"We are aware that a member of the media has started a rumor that Lane Johnson will be suspended for a PED violation. Lane has not been suspended and any report to the contrary is false. None the less we will not comment on my client's protected health information."
Philadelphia signed Johnson to a five-year, $52 million contract extension in February.
