EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - As we head into the upcoming weekend, our weather will be taking a turn for the better; namely, in that we will see increasing clouds and rain chances return to our part of the state. An approaching cool front will combine with a slow meandering low pressure system over Louisiana to enhance our rain chances in Deep East Texas.
This notable shift in our weather pattern will help us finally break the heat, while at the same time, bring East Texas some good chances to receive some beneficial rainfall.
With these rain chances ramping up over the weekend, we have designated Sunday through next Tuesday as First Alert weather days.
This means the rain could disrupt your daily routine, possibly causing you to alter your plans.
Since the cool front will likely stall just to our northwest, we will have good rain chances linger into early next week.
Many areas could receive one-to-three inches of rain between now and next Wednesday, with higher amounts likely across the Sabine National Forest and further east toward the Sabine River.
The added cloud cover and shower activity will also help break the unrelenting heat, as daytime highs hover around the ninety degree mark on Sunday through Tuesday.
