ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A 35-year-old Etoile man died as a result of a two-vehicle wreck on State Highway 103 about five miles east of Lufkin early Monday morning.
According to a press release, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on SH 103 East at about 1:40 a.m. Monday.
The preliminary crash investigation revealed that a 2003 Ford passenger car driven by Shelby Dale LeBlanc was traveling east on SH 103 when it drove over into the westbound lane and struck a 2007 Ford pickup head on, the press release stated.
Justice of the Peace Pat Grubbs pronounced LeBlanc dead at the scene of the wreck.
Roy Lynn Smith, 36, of Pollok, was the driver of the Ford pickup, and he was taken to CHI St. Luke's Health Memorial Hospital in Lufkin for treatment of serious injuries.
The wreck is still under investigation at this time.
