LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man has avoided jailtime after accepting a probation sentence by pleading guilty to having sex with a 16-year-old girl.
Brandon Taylor Willis, 21, accepted eight years of probation in District Judge Bob Inselmann's courtroom on Thursday.
Lufkin police arrested Willis in October 2015 after a man reported to police that Willis had a sexual encounter with his daughter two days prior. He said he suspected something happened between her and Willis when he found text messages on his daughter's phone. He said he asked his daughter about it and she said she had sex with Willis in their house.
Police interviewed Willis on July 28. According to the arrest affidavit, he said he knew the girl was a juvenile and was aware of her real age. He said while he was having sex with her, he felt a "little bit bad about it." he said he was not able to finish having sex with her because he did not feel right about it, according to the affidavit.
Willis told police he struggles with being attracted to young girls and justified his attraction by saying he is "a kid at heart and is afraid to grow up." He said he has a porn addiction and uses several different social media sites to chat with younger girls, according to the affidavit.
Prosecuting attorney Deborah Moore said she had no comment on the plea.
