These chicken wings are a healthier version of traditional (fried) buffalo wings. No oil involved, but still lots of flavor for your kids when they're ready for an after-school snack!
Slow-cooker Buffalo-ranch chicken wings
2 to 3 pounds of chicken wings
1 cup of your favorite hot wing sauce (I used Frank's)
1 envelope spicy Ranch dressing mix
salt and pepper
Mix wing sauce and ranch dressing mix in a bowl until powder is dissolved.
Spray your slow cooker with cooking spray. Add the wings to the cooker.
Salt and pepper the wings, and then pour over the sauce mixture.
Cook on high for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
At this point, the wings will be soft and tender. If you want to crisp them, place them on a cookie sheet (lined with parchment paper for easier clean-up) and place under hot broiler for 5 minutes. I flipped and broiled other side for several minutes, as well. Serve with ranch dressing and more hot wing sauce. Enjoy!
