LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Officers with the Lufkin Police Department arrested a 28-year-old Nacogdoches man Friday in connection to allegations that he got mad at his sister because she asked him to roll her car window up, threw beer bottles and bricks at her, and then damaged the windshield on her car.

Then the man allegedly got into a fight with the woman’s boyfriend.

Martin Luviono is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a second-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge and a Class B misdemeanor criminal mischief between $100 and $750 charged. Collectively, his bail amount has been set at $21,500.

According to the narrative of the police report, Lufkin PD officers were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Jordan Avenue at about 1:50 a.m. on Aug. 20 in reference to a disturbance. When one of the officers arrived on the scene, he spotted two men fighting on the side of the street. A woman with blood on her face and shirt was standing off to the side.

The LPD officer pulled his Taser and told all three people to get on the ground.

After a second officer arrived on the scene, he handcuffed the two men. Once the officers got control of the scene, they started asking questions.

The woman who was covered in blood was identified as Luviono’s sister. She said that when she came home, her brother went out to her vehicle and rolled its driver’s side window down. She asked her brother to roll the window back up, and he said that he would do it later, the police report stated.

At that point, the woman went outside to confront her brother, the police report stated. The two of them got into an argument, and Luviono allegedly started throwing beer bottles at his sister. The woman was struck in the head by one of the bottles, causing bleeding, the police report stated.

A broken Corona bottle was found near the pool of blood on the home’s front porch, and there were “multiple beer bottles in the yard, both solid and broken.” According to the police report, Luviono also grabbed three bricks from a flower bed and threw one of them at his sister, hitting her in the head.

When the officers arrived on the scene, the woman’s face, head, and shirt were covered in blood.
During the fight, one of the bricks Luviono threw hit the windshield of the woman’s car and damaged it, the report stated.

Because the woman had been screaming during the fight, she woke up her mother, stepfather, and boyfriend. Luviono said that the boyfriend tackled him. When the first LPD officer arrived on the scene, the woman’s boyfriend was punching Luviono.

The LPD officers determined that the boyfriend had been defending the woman when he attacked Luviono, the police report stated.

The woman was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial in Lufkin for treatment of her injuries, the police report stated. Luviono was also taken to the hospital, and he was found to have a minor fracture near his nose.

Luviono was transported to the county jail, after he was cleared by the hospital’s staff.
