Many people took to the trails Saturday afternoon to get a little closer to nature.
Volunteers from the Forest Service, SFA, and the Boy and Girl Scouts hosted a nature festival Saturday. People came out in the morning to learn about tagging birds, identifying insects, and even take nature walks to learn about plants in the forest.
Volunteers say it's all in an effort to get people outside and interested in nature.
Kendall Carter, a volunteer, said, "people of all ages can get together and learn about nature, how to conserve, and protect what mother nature has given us."
