NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches residents raised a glass for a good cause tonight at the Liberty Bell.

Cocktails were served up by SFA's new basketball coach Kyle Keller and KTRE Sports Director Laura Sadler.

All the money raised from Thursday night’s event goes to the American Cancer Society in East Texas.

2016 Cattle Baron Chairman Jennifer Webster said it’s a cause that’s near and dear to her heart.

"It is very important to me because my family has been touched by cancer, well everybody has been touched by cancer, and the proceeds for the event go directly to the American Cancer Society" Webster said.

Along with celebrity bartenders, country music artist John Michael Montgomery was the headlining entertainer for evening and a raffle was also conducted at the end of the night.

The event was meant to get people out in order to spread awareness and get them interested in this year’s headlining event gala that will take place this fall.

The Pineywoods Cattle Baron's Gala is set for October 15th at Southern Stables.
