ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Three people were taken to Lufkin hospitals for treatment of their injuries after a two-vehicle rollover wreck involving a pickup and an SUV occurred on US Highway 69 North in the Pollok area Friday afternoon.

The accident, which occurred just north of Rifle Road, caused the pickup to roll over on its side.  A Texas Department of Public Safety press release stated that a 2002 Ford pickup driven by David Lynn Allen, 60, of Lufkin, was headed north on US 69 when the vehicle hydroplaned and slid into the southbound lanes of the highway, striking a 2016 Toyota SUV driven by Robert Rich, 56, of Lufkin.

One of the people involved in the accident was trapped until emergency personnel could free him or her from the vehicle.

Allen was taken by ambulance to Woodland Heights Medical Center. Rich and his passenger, 56-year-old Greta Hicks, were both taken to CHI St. Luke's Health Memorial Hospital in Lufkin for treatment of their injuries.

The wreck is still under investigation.
