ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A former Huntington Middle School teacher has accepted a plea bargain deal of two years of deferred adjudication for sending a nude photo of herself to a 14-year-old former student.

Kylie Rexann Modisette, 28, of Huntington, appeared in Judge Joe Lee Register’s county-court-at-law Friday. As part of the plea deal, she pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor distribution of harmful material to a minor charge. Deferred adjudication is similar to probation.

According to an arrest affidavit, Huntington ISD Police contacted Ranger Travis Brazil on April 4, requesting assistance with the investigation.

Brazil reported learning that Modisette, who teaches on the middle school campus, had sent nude photographs of herself to the student through Snapchat in December. The boy was able to delete the photos from his cellphone, but not before other students had taken a screenshot and distributed to multiple students throughout the school.

The boy told authorities that Modisette had sent him multiple photos and that he was a former student of hers.

Law enforcement then interviewed Modisette, who confessed to sending two photos to the student, according to the affidavit.
Modisette was booked into the Angelina County Jail on the distribution of harmful material charge back in April. She was released from the jail after she posted a bail amount of $1,500.

Back in April, HISD Superintendent David Flowers confirmed they investigated a teacher and have placed them on administrative leave pending the investigation, but he wouldn’t elaborate any further.
